Having a warm-up in the class is really
important because it helps students to have a positive atmosphere to practice
and experiment the language they are learning. Also, a warm- up is necessary to
refresh the mind of the students in order to know if they learned or if they
remember something about the class which was given before. Moreover, when the teacher does this important activity from the lesson plan, gives the students the opportunity to interact with each other and that is good because they can demonstrate participation in the class working as a group.
Those warm-ups can be used in an intermediate level in which students know vocabulary or they just want to practice about what the teacher is giving in the class. On the other hand, I can say that I really liked doing this piece of the class because I could see the participation of all my classmates and the way that they catched the idea for this activity. So, it was a great experience for me to perform as a presenter because I used gestures and different things about classroom managment. I know that I was nervous, but I always try to do my best in every presentation. I could have given the instructions in a different way, so for the next activity I will try to do it better.
Using a warm-up at the beginning of the class is really useful because as I mentioned before it helps students to feel comfortable at the moment they are going to receive the class. They can feel relaxed and have some fun before going to the topic. It is a good way for having a nice class.
To sum up, it is really important to have a warm-up in the class because in that way the teacher can perceive different abilities from the students, and if they can work as a group in the classroom. Nothing can be learned if the students are tense, so the teacher has to have different tools in order to catch the attention of the students.
Hi, Gabby!
ResponderEliminarYou are right at the moment that you highlight the importance of the warm-ups in class when saying that these ones help students to have a well-enough interaction among one another. Moreover, besides having the chance to do a quick review of the last class, a warm-up gives the students some fun and makes the environment of the class more comfortable.
To be honest, I enjoyed the warm-up you developed but something that you really have to be careful with is the time for you took too much time. This is just a piece of advice I can give to you but the rest of the warm-up was just amazing!

I really appreciate your comment because you and I share the importance of having a warm-up in the class and the way that this tool from the lesson plan helps the students :)
ResponderEliminarI am in agreement with you Gaby. And warm-up is really importan for students and the teacher because it is like an icebreaker at the beginning of a topic, also it is a review and it permits to know about the knowledge that an student has about it.
ResponderEliminarHello, Gaby! you are right becuase develop a warm-up you expect that your students feel confortable with the activities that you want to develop. One thing that is important is the activities that we choose because sometimes there are some activities that can not fiix in some levels. Particularly, I like your activity because everybody was in constant movenment and develop our critical thinking, remembering words that help us to win. I love this activity.
ResponderEliminarIt is always useful to analyze our teaching performance after we have finished a class. this will lead us to become aware of those details we need to work on.
